About

Haruki Yokoyama

Auditing listed companies, supporting Japanese businesses overseas, due diligence for M&A. Over ten years of this work, what I learned above all was to read the business behind the numbers and see what really matters.

Accounting and tax figures are a shared language. They record where a company has been, show where it stands today and support decisions about where it goes next. My job is not only to provide technical knowledge, but to turn it into something you can rely on when a decision is hard.

Business owners create jobs and new value, and they keep the economy moving. I want to help build a society in which companies that take on challenges can grow soundly, with advisors they can trust. That is why I now work from Yanaka, Tokyo, supporting business owners and entrepreneurs with accounting, tax and management.

Yanaka is where I grew up. I was born in Ueda, Nagano, and raised in Yanaka, Taito-ku. I have worked abroad, but when I set up on my own I chose this neighborhood, where connections with local people and businesses are close at hand.

I do not want to be an advisor who only appears at year-end. I want to understand your business in depth and think alongside you about pricing, hiring, cash flow and investment: the business decisions that come before tax.

Turning expertise into business strength.

At the audit firm I learned what auditors look for. Overseas, I learned what it takes to support a business under different rules. In financial advisory, I learned how to think about what a company is worth. They are different jobs, but all of them come down to seeing the substance of a business through its numbers.

The company began in 1992 as my parents’ architecture firm here in Yanaka. After more than thirty years in the neighborhood, I took it over and gave it its current name.

Where my parents once drew up building plans, I now work with numbers. The work has changed, but in one sense it continues: listening to people who run businesses in this neighborhood, and supporting them as they grow.
